Duties of Radio Positions @ TMOM

Net Control

Be the focal point of process.  Work with scribe to insure times and comments are recorded so a time line is establised.

Net Control Scribe

As activites progress, keep notes on what PODs are doing (moving from and to where along with time, times each bus leaves for gym, time finished patients leave for their cars etc....

Registration

As patients come in, they will be given a wrist band with a POD# on it.  That POD will stay together the entire process until they get to treatment.  Your job is to find the Registration "Boss" and listen to THAT PERSON ONLY.  When the POD gets to a designated number, the POD will be ready to move forward.  Your job is to call NC and inform him that POD#1 is ready to move forward.  NC will call V&T (next on the route) and request if they are ready to take POD#1.  If V&T tells NC they are ready, NC will give verbal approval to move POD#1.  You will inform the Registration "Boss" that V&T is ready to accept POD#1.  The Registration "Boss"  will tell POD#1 Leader to move to V&T.  Registration will then start on forming POD#2.  When it is ready, the same process will be repeated.  Under no circumstances do you take a move command from anyone but the Registration "Boss"

V&T (Vitals and Triage)

Find the V&T Section "Boss" and take directions from them only.  You will need to get their permission to move a POD into their area or out of their area.  When V&T accepts a POD, the vitals and consent of each person in that POD will be taken.  Keep NC informed about how far they are in the process.  PODs will be coming in from Registration and Moving out to Transport.  Transport is a Holding area to load the bus with one complete POD.

Transport

Find the Transport Section "Boss" and take directions from them only.  You will need to get their permission to move a POD into their area or out of their area.  When Transport accepts a POD, the patients in that POD will be holding until ready to load the bus to be taken to the treatment area (gym).  Keep informed about when the treatment area will be ready to move the POD.  This will require NC checking with the Treatment area and asking if the next POD can be moved forward.  When NC is given the OK, they will call transport who will give the Transport "Boss" the load the bus order.  The bus will be loaded and go to the treatment area.  The bus will unload and come back to the loading area for another POD.  PODs will be coming in from V&T and Moving out to the Treatment Area (gym).  Note:  You will also have "Runner Volunteers" who will go to a family waiting room to let them know their patient family member is done and going to their car and they should go there also.

Gym

Find the Treatment Area (Gym) "Boss" and take directions from them ONLY.  The Treatment area radio has two different things to do.  One is to let NC know the bus coming from Transport has arrived.  The second and probably most important, is to let NC know that a patient is done.  As the patient exits the gym, ask the person their name and let NC know to notify Transport.  Transport will have "Runner volunteers" who will go to a waiting room release and announce to their family that the patient is done and they should meet them at their car.  Their should be golf carts there to take the patients to their car.  If you see a patient feeling badly or having problems and wants medical attention, get NC to notify Emergency to check them out.  Make sure you give NC the times each patient leaves the gym to go home.  The Treatment area (gym) is the last stop for the patients before they go home.

Shadow

The Shadow's responsibility is to stay with the one person in charge, the go to person.  Use your HT and cell phone if needed to keep in touch with NC.

Emergency

Will be on station with Police, Fire, and EMS Personel in case patients or workers have problems.

Communication

ALL communication should go through Net Control (NC).

Breaks

The PE Building will have food, drinks, bathroom facilities, couches, chairs, and tables.  The break room is on the second floor and will be a controlled access area.  The Treatment area (Gym) will also have a small area for workers to relax but the location has not yet been determined.  It will be plainly marked at the start of TMOM.
