FEBRUARY 2025
VOLUME L, NUMBER 2
Greetings HOTARC members!
February will be the club's final meeting at the Lake Air location that we've been at since we
moved from the clubhouse on Chapel Road. We will be discussing new and interesting
meeting places and we may even try out a few to see which we like best (unless everyone
loves the first one of course).
We have representatives from Baylor joining us this month to talk about the Bearathon
(March 29th, a Saturday this year). The signup sheet is here if you're viewing this from the
web. If you are not and need the link please reach out to me and I'll get it to you via email.

Hi HOTARC!
Looks like winter weather is going to stick around a little
longer!! Its time to start getting ready to get your ham gear
out of hibernation. As soon as I get a sunny weekend day I
plan on pulling out the generator and firing it up. Its a good
time to check batteries, check antennas and coax. Clean all
the ground points. Do all the general maintenance that is
needed for emergency operations. Its a good time to update
the repeater information as there are some new repeaters in
the area that have come online in the last few months, March
is almost here
and the spring
storms are
coming too.
Hurricane
Season starts
on June 1
