Good day HOTARC Members!
We are coming ever nearer to ARRL Field Day 2025! We will again be at the Lawson's Point
area of Cameron Park. This is a cool area for the setup and we look forward to a good
turnout this year. Jim Jud has been doing great getting us properly organized. We hope to
see you there!
Also stay tuned for a program from Dan Julian of the Civil Air Patrol. He will be going
through what CAP is and what they do. It should be a very interesting presentation!
I got called away for work yet again this week and I hope to be able to attend at least via
Zoom. Dave will be leading the meeting for me this week and probably doing a better job of
it than I could have! Hope to see yall all soon.

Hi HOTARC!
NOAA will issue its outlook for the 2025 Atlantic hurricane season during a news conference
on Thursday, May 22 at the National Press Club in Washington, DC and virtually.
Colorado State University has already made their predictions.
Early predictions from Colorado State University (CSU) point towards an above-average Atlantic
hurricane season.
CSU forecasts 17 named storms, 9 hurricanes, and 4 major hurricanes.
In McLennan County we have experienced 2 Severe Thunderstorm Warnings and several Flash
Flood Warnings. We have been on the dry side this month but avoided many significant tornado
outbreaks in the outlying areas to the north and east. Be weather aware as we roll into the Hurricane
season on June 1st!
As always, the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed. Thanks to everyone who is part of the team!
If you are interested in becoming a member of McLennan
County ARES, go to the HOTARC Web site under the
frequently asked questions and download the application.
E-mail or mail the completed application according to the
instructions listed at the bottom of the application. Your
application will be processed and you will receive an ARES ID
Card As always, the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed.
Thanks to everyone who is part of the team!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
