Dear HOTARC Members,
As we step into the warmth of summer, our club gears up for an exciting season of
activities and camaraderie. There are several important updates and initiatives I'd like
to share with you all.
ARRL Summer Field Day at Lawsons Point, Cameron Park: Volunteers Needed!
I'm thrilled to remind everyone that we've secured approval to utilize Lawsons Point at
Cameron Park for this year's ARRL Summer Field Day happening this weekend. We
still need your help to make this event a resounding success. If you’re planning to
attend or are interested in helping, please reach out to Mike Davis at
mike@na5x.com. Your support in spreading the word and attracting crowds is crucial.
Let's work together to make this Field Day one to remember.
Trailer Antenna Installation
Our trailer work, including the installation of the new aerial antenna, was postponed and is now scheduled for
Wednesday, June 19, 2024, from 12-9 PM. Please coordinate with Aaron, Mike, or David Halvorstein to confirm
your availability and help us get the trailer ready for our upcoming activities.
June Meeting: WW100 Sign-Ups
In June, we'll begin sign-ups for WW100. We're also in need of a committee to help organize this significant event,
so if you're interested in getting involved, please step forward. The Presentation for this meeting will be all Wild
West 100 and follow up on Field Day.
July Meeting: Ice Cream Social
Who doesn't love ice cream? Our July meeting will be an opportunity to indulge in sweet treats and enjoy each
other's company at our annual Ice Cream Social.
August Meeting: WW100 Prep Day
As we approach WW100, our August meeting will focus on preparations for this milestone event. Stay tuned for
more details.
I am truly grateful for each and every one of you and the contributions you make to our club. Together, we're
building something truly special. Let's continue to work hand in hand to make HOTARC the best it can be.

The 2024 hurricane season started in June 1
st
. Right now we have a potential Tropical Cyclone in the Gulf
that will impact far South Texas and Mexico.
This is the first time that I can remember the term Tropical Cyclone used in the Atlantic. We are already off
to a busy 2024 season.
As always the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed. Thanks
to everyone who is part of the team!
If you are interested in becoming a member of McLennan
County ARES, go to the HOTARC Web site under the
frequently asked questions and download the application.
E-mail or mail the completed application according to the
instructions listed at the bottom of the application. Your
application will be processed and you will receive an ARES ID
Card As always, the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed.
