OCTOBER 2025
VOLUME L, NUMBER 10
Hello HOTARC,
Well despite last month’s false start with the party room at Slow Rise, we are confirmed for this
Thursday! We are looking for volunteers for our Nominating Committee as well as folks willing
to serve on our board. And thhis month has typically been “home brew” night so if you have
any creations you want to show off ham radio related or otherwise bring them on!

by Paul Collins KG5DHS
McLennan County Emergency Coordinator
Hi HOTARC!
So far 2025 has been an unusual hurricane season. So far, there have been twelve named storms.
Only four hurricanes, although three were major storms. With all that activity, only one made landfall
on the East Coast and the Gulf Coast has been spared. That may change as there is a storm
developing in the Carribean that might affect the Gulf Coast. The season officially closes on
November 30th.
As always, the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed.
Thanks to everyone who is part of the team!
If you are interested in becoming a member of McLennan
County ARES, go to the HOTARC Web site under the
frequently asked questions and download the application.
E-mail or mail the completed application according to the
instructions listed at the bottom of the application. Your
application will be processed and you will receive an ARES ID
Card As always, the ARES team is ready to deploy if needed.
Thanks to everyone who is part of the team!
I'm looking forward to seeing everyone at the meeting.
